Every year, our Video Production class eagerly participates in the South Carolina Young Filmmakers Project, a prestigious statewide filmmaking competition open to high school and middle school students across South Carolina. This exciting opportunity challenges our students to unleash their creativity and storytelling talents as they craft a short film, limited to two minutes, exploring various cinematic genres. Our film 'Pick One' will be shown with the other finalists at a special screening on Saturday, July 13 at 2:30pm on a real cinema screen at Spotlight Cinemas Capital 8 movie theater in Columbia, SC.
Each year, the competition introduces a unique theme prop that must be creatively incorporated into the narrative. For this year's competition, the chosen prop was a guitar pick.
Our students embraced this challenge with enthusiasm. Here, they are filming the kitchen scene of their short movie 'Pick One'.
Check out 'Pick One', our class' latest short movie! Notice the cameo by Pinewood's very own Mr. Stone!
